Who is Steven Ngo?
Steven Ngo is a tech lawyer, an adjunct professor and a sought-after international speaker. After graduating from the Peter A. Allard School of Law (UBC) in 2014, he practiced at some of the most prestigious law firms in Canada and globally. During his time in private practice, he served on hiring committees, gaining behind-the-scenes insight into how recruitment decisions are actually made.
Throughout his career, Steven has received some of the legal profession’s top honours. He has been named one of Canada’s Top 25 Most Influential Lawyers, recognized as NAPABA’s Best Under 40, and awarded the Medal of Good Citizenship—one of BC’s highest distinctions for public service.
He continues to give back and mentor students. He served as president for the Federation of Asian Canadian Lawyers BC, co-founded the Federation of Asian Canadian Lawyers Western, and served as a board member of National Asian Pacific American Bar Association (NAPABA).
As the first from his family to attend law school, Steven understands what it’s like to navigate unfamiliar settings. He vividly remembers being a 1L student, feeling completely lost in the recruitment process and having to figure things out. Steven’s mission to serve the person that he once was and help others who are walking through this path.
