Who is Steven?
Steven is a technology lawyer, adjunct professor and speaker. After graduating from the Peter A. Allard School of Law at UBC in 2014, he practiced at some of the most prestigious law firms in Canada and globally. During his time in private practice, he served on hiring committees, gaining rare insight into how recruitment decisions are actually made.
Throughout his career, Steven has received some of the legal profession’s top honours. He was named one of Canada’s Top 25 Most Influential Lawyers, recognized as NAPABA’s Best Under 40, and awarded the Medal of Good Citizenship, one of BC’s highest distinctions for public service.
He continues to give back and mentor others. He served as President for the Federation of Asian Canadian Lawyers BC, President of the Federation of Asian Canadian Lawyers Western, and as a board member of National Asian Pacific American Bar Association.
As the first in his family to attend law school, Steven understands what it’s like to navigate unfamiliar systems without a roadmap. He remembers feeling completely lost as a law student and trying to piece everything together on his own. His mission is simple: to serve the person he once was and to guide others who are now walking that same path.
