Who is Steven?
Steven Ngo is a technology lawyer, professor and speaker. After graduating from the Peter A. Allard School of Law (UBC), he practiced at some of the most prestigious law firms in Canada and around the world. During his time in private practice, he served on hiring committees, gaining insight into how decisions are made behind the scenes.
Through his career, Steven received some of the profession’s top honours. He was named one of Canada’s Top 25 Most Influential Lawyers, recognized as Best Under 40 by NAPABA, and awarded the BC Medal of Good Citizenship, one of British Columbia's highest distinctions for public service.
He continues to give back to the community. He served as President of the Federation of Asian Canadian Lawyers BC, President of the Federation of Asian Canadian Lawyers Western, and as a board member of the National Asian Pacific American Bar Association.
As the first in his family to attend law school, Steven understands what it’s like to navigate unfamiliar systems. He remembers feeling completely lost as a law student during the recruitment process and trying to piece everything together on his own. Now, his personal mission is to serve the person he once was and help others walking the same path.

Do you coach only lawyers (and students)?

Many of our clients actually come from outside the legal world, including business, non-profit, and public service. The skills for authentically (and rapidly) establishing a connection in an interview setting are applicable across industries, not just within law.
Prior to law school, I worked in human resources at one of Canada's largest and most well-known companies, so I have an appreciation for what things look like outside of law.
