Who is Steven?
Steven is a technology lawyer, adjunct professor and speaker. After graduating from the Peter A. Allard School of Law (UBC), he practiced at some of the most prestigious law firms in Canada and around the world. During his time in private practice, he served on hiring committees, gaining insight into how decisions are made behind the scenes.
Through his career, Steven received some of the profession’s top honours. He was named one of Canada’s Top 25 Most Influential Lawyers, recognized as Best Under 40 by NAPABA, and awarded the BC Medal of Good Citizenship, one of British Columbia's highest distinctions for public service.
He continues to give back to the community. He served as President of the Federation of Asian Canadian Lawyers BC, Co-Founder/President of the Federation of Asian Canadian Lawyers Western, and as a board member of the National Asian Pacific American Bar Association.
As the first in his family to attend law school, Steven understands what it’s like to navigate unfamiliar systems. He remembers feeling completely lost as a law student during the recruitment process and trying to piece everything together on his own.
His personal mission is to serve the person he once was and help others walking the same path.

What are your coaching services like?

We offer three tiers of support depending on your needs and goals. It begins with our Starter package, which is completely DIY, where you would work through materials at your own pace.
The next level is our most popular option, our Premium package. This includes a thorough CV assessment where we would identify the most likely interview questions based on your profile, four 1:1 private coaching sessions where you would work with us directly to help shape your story and interview responses in an authentic manner that works, and includes additional sessions that you can book à la carte at a discounted rate.
The final tier is our Elite package, which is capped at 10 clients per year, and for those who are looking for top-tier support. This package includes unlimited coaching sessions (for a limited period), in-person interview practice, priority access to us via WhatsApp and our Beyond the A Job Guarantee. How do I get started?
Everything that I teach is grounded in personal experience, and it works.

What makes you different?
Yes! A number of clients have landed roles in both business and public settings. Prior to law school, I worked in human resources at one of the largest corporations in Canada and am well-versed in what those roles are looking for.
While there are some nuances within law and outside of law, the core principles remain the same and happy to help.

Do you work with non-lawyers?
What if I’m not a student but a lawyer looking for help with an upcoming interview?

We can absolutely help. Many of our clients re-engage us to help polish their interview responses for a lateral move. Having made many of my own lateral moves and worked at the most coveted roles in the legal industry, the strategy is different, but the fundamentals remain the same.
If anything, the interview EQ is even more important during these lateral pivots and I’d be happy to help.
